Based on the memoir of Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker who in 1998 was indicted for money laundering and fraud. To help with the role, DiCaprio actually met with Belfort to prepare himself.
“I wanted a close relationship with him so that I could weave intimate details into the movie,” says DiCaprio, “things that weren’t in the book. I was kind of the middleman between him and Marty (Scorsese).”
Again, just like many of the films he has starred in, it looks visually stunning.
